Medium

Good. If she's bullet fodder then she won't be able to distract you any more.

Medium

You're all doomed.

Easy

Easy

What is the plan here, operant?

Easy

Is she In On This? Paid off, threatened, fanatical?

Medium

The real question -- how did he get them to serve him?

Easy

Utter impenetrability in the event of capture. No torturer is breaking through to this one.

Medium

The nagging idea that you should just finish the job accosts you.

Easy

Your desire to stay out of the freezer and prove yourself in the eyes of the Opera has clearly been foregrounded in his mind. You can use this against him.

Easy

Sarcastic or not, you have bent him to your will. You can use him in theatre.

Easy

Not nearly as confident his put-on persona as he pretends.

Medium

He has made it clear he will betray you first chance he gets. A treacherousness so overt, it is somehow easier to deal with.

Medium

Nothing short of an in-theatre liability and, what's worse, one that's auto-generating false lore in real time.

Medium

The importer persona is simply not deep enough to occupy his whole personality, so it multiplies by nature, trying to fill the empty space where a person should be.

Easy

He knows he's a loose end, and he knows what happens to loose ends.

Medium

A particularly brutal annexation, the Tenantries were razed almost to the ground. What remains is a shrunken capital surrounded by non-arable land.

Challenging

Most likely a mid-rank Weeping Eye asset.

Medium

An envoy of the shadow war.

Medium

Formidable

A body in a ditch. A back alley arrest. A name scraped off a plaque and folded into bureaucracy. You'd assumed a lot, but not this sad half-death.

Medium

You sense the long shadow of EMTERR hanging over this.

Trivial

And an operant should always be thorough when searching for clandestine spaces.

Challenging

You have more pressing things to worry about than this. Better for the assignment that you just believe him and move on.

Challenging

Standard Operant Bureau procedure: once burned, an asset is not to be revived except under exceptional circumstances.

Formidable

Trepanation is hardly the most extreme thing an operant has done in pursuit of becoming a supranaturally-inclined spy. Nor is it, for that matter, the only one involving bodily mutilation.

Formidable

As unfavourable as the scenario is, there is a comfort to seeing it lucidly played out before you.

Easy

He's right -- if you fall for a decoy instead of the real thing, all your careful planning and execution will have been for nothing.

Challenging

Comical, yes, but also horrifying. The last place you would suspect.

Medium

Is he engaging in Advanced Cognitive Manoeuvres... right now?

Medium

A rumour whispered among the more seasoned Remembrancers: That Director Twitchitov asphyxiated himself under auto-erotic circumstances.

Medium

Old wounds split open within your mind. Are you between crosshairs? What have you missed? What has the other not missed?

Medium

Such crucial information should have been conveyed directly to the Operant Bureau. Something is out of step.

Trivial

'Intra-agency'? But there's only one agency... The one you both work for...

Challenging

At least we have a building with working electricity.

Medium

A one man intelligence agency. Typical Remembrancer histrionics.

Challenging

As were you. A bullet knocked you down, the communists dragged you clear.

Easy

Sunless, six stories below ground, he still synthesises information about your life better than you.

Formidable

He's attempting Functional Invisibility again. Or 'Psychogenic Translucency', as M.I.H.O. calls it.

Medium

As with any espionage catastrophe, there is no true answer. Or there are one hundred answers. That's what's killing him, the unknowing.

Medium

His voice is in the cipher now. Commune.

Easy

The dark arts of the Opera's Remembrancer Division. Much storied, often unsuccessful.

Easy

The dark arts of the Opera's Remembrancer Division. Much storied, often unsuccessful.

Trivial

All mirrors angled to reinforce the same image: A cover as life.

Easy

Clever. But no match for CASCADE.

Medium

A life sacrificed on the altar of her cover.

Easy

Where the Opera would send him, he'll have no need for papers.

Easy

A cleavage you'd do well to remember. There may be something to exploit here.

Challenging

An operant of the cosmic plane.

Trivial

Tesoro Buendia. To the Operant Bureau he is the Hundred-Eyed Golem. To La Luz he is the Chief of the Weeping Eye.

Medium

Ejected from a helicopter over the Noscorrentes.
