Medium

You're not supposed to see this.

Medium

A bioweapon hidden in a jar of biscuits. Assume the worst.

Medium

Medium

You'd be proving her right about you. Be the better person, show that you can be trusted.

Medium

She left room for a 'but'!

Medium

Which means that Eszti knew about Karolina but she never tried to help her.

Medium

So she never tried to help K? Ahahaha. Bitch.

Medium

And you must trust her too, at least for the time being. You need her.

Medium

A stranger's death in a strange city. You were the final friend he had.

Medium

Her Ultra Violeta pin badge is stained completely red.

Medium

Medium

Medium

His eyes meet yours as he crumples to the floor.

Medium

It makes you homesick.

Medium

His muffled voice is light, higher than such a large man should be able to produce.

Medium

The sound of Ultra Violeta's voice lessens the pain.

Medium

In some ways, he is correct. People often perform for someone, or something, mostly themselves.

Medium

Too late. You're doing this.

Medium

Something about the way he says the name 'Facundo'...

Medium

He pronounces the word 'dialectical' with a teasing viciousness which is almost like flirting.

Medium

He'll have a talk with the vendors later today. A firm one.

Medium

Your friend is here.

Medium

Not part of his job description. A caring gesture.

Medium

They farmed out your asset, your friend, to some trouserless infant?

Medium

Maybe it was company he wanted. A chance to palm away the frost and peer into the old days. For some, that counts as 'urgent'.

Medium

It would have. It would have brought you running. If they'd bothered to tell you.

Medium

He already fears the worst. You don't need to get into the uglier details.

Medium

He doesn't know what he's asking for. Not really.

Medium

Behind the words, you feel your old asset's ghost, smiling.

Medium

There's a hollow in his voice, one you doubt was there just weeks ago.

Medium

His jacket's been patched over many times. Storied.

Medium

They're not sure how they feel about that.

Medium

And what could be worse than that?

Medium

They think you're uncool. Maybe someone at the bazaar can help you teen up your style.

Medium

So assured of their connection to her that their own emotional experience has assimilated that of their idol.

Medium

Typical adolescent obfuscation. This boast will fall apart the second you apply pressure.

Medium

Her friend had a genuine spiritual experience, and she never has. Every time it's mentioned, it drives her mad.

Medium

She thinks her loyalty will buy her intimacy.

Medium

Her voice wobbles, poor thing.

Medium

Maybe little pale lies draw her attention to the pitch black one at the core of this relationship.

Medium

So this is what it's like to have a pod. It's nice.

Medium

It's so nice having a friend.

Medium

A touch of desperation, there.

Medium

Too polite to allow himself to accept what you've said.

Medium

He has felt it too.

Medium

Surely the idea of that man having any rights left is obscene.

Medium

It's not like he's in any state to fact-check you.

Medium

It means something to Dr Hugo -- perhaps a lot. He would be sad to see it go.

Medium

It means something -- perhaps a lot -- to whoever put it here. They would be sad to see it go.

Medium

Would probably snatch it and wear it as its own.
