Any recordings of the event would become highly sought collectibles for certain segments of regime insiders.

Medium

An advanced technique known only to those with a lifelong passion for it.

Medium

Yes! Yes!! That's not a real model but fuck it!!!

Medium

Medium

Amateur wirework.

Medium

No use. The Umatic disc encoding method is basically extinct. You can't play this thing without specialised equipment.

Medium

A Protypo 909 50-watt with multi-disc changer. Last-generation model, designed for affordability at the expense of power and clarity.

Medium

Wait! There's no neatly perforated line to guide your tearing. And the binding's flimsy -- any operation you attempt, without the proper precautions, will become a dissection.

Medium

This is a Umatic. While the form-factor's the same as any modern disc, the encoding method is entirely different.

Medium

Medium

Machines don't make mistakes, mister.

Medium

Baleen -- whale keratin. Also used to manufacture the cuirasses worn by Lävendi's revolutionary brigades.

Medium

It's much more expensive than a mere toy.

Medium

By the sound of it, it's more expensive than a mere toy.

Medium

No wires, switches, or screws anywhere on that thing he's holding. Remarkably untechnological for a Ramses project.

Medium

One, two, dead. One, two, dead -- a precise interval. The lightbulb isn't flickering, it's pulsing.

Medium

There is only one security system that uses that setup, the Abwehr-Pastorius Mk. III. A legendary keypad and lock duo.

Medium

There's something about stars and what it says about this type of lock, but it doesn't quite come to you.

Medium

Intercom looks expensive, the interference suggests a building-wide system. Nothing 'light' about this security.

Medium

Of course. When an industry dies out, its buildings are repurposed into offices for that contemporary, utilitarian feel.

Medium

With a certain weariness, you discern.

Medium

An emergency venting cycle; motors spinning down. The device is trying to adjust to an unexpected baseline.

Medium

One must think of multi-tiered privileges. Access granted or withheld via radio wave. Most likely off-the-shelf.

Medium

The Subcomandante's 'metaphysical superweapon' is useless, unless.... could it be he's found a way to reconstruct the red disc?

Medium

Perhaps a kind of social scramble pattern.

Medium

Velodisk! A modern laser-hybrid format, played using a heated stylus unit. Astounding sonic fidelity. Cause of thousands of home fires.

Medium

You see him now -- eyes wide, reward circuit shorted out by the cut and thrust of commerce.

Medium

Behold! The paladin who stands before Absurdity and declares 'Well, technically...'

Medium

Remanence: the charge that remains after the removal of a magnetic field. The ghost of magnetic possession.

Medium

Pretty esoteric term we've got here... Just roll with it.

Medium

As if to ward you, vector of the techno-plague, away.

Medium

Velodisk! A modern laser-hybrid medium, played using a heated stylus unit. Astounding sonic fidelity. Cause of thousands of home fires.

Medium

Necro-techno sorcery. Awesome!

Medium

She has surpassed him.

Medium

At least two different colours and three different consistencies in there. That's not a drug, that's a cocktail.

Medium

Enabling subconscious links between several participants, all wearing headsets. Very futuristic.

Medium

Rendering the patient almost vegetative. No neurological activity means no seizure.

Medium

A Wachbann door. Double-skin boron-alloy, tungsten-carbide backing, sixty millimetre core. High-end prison-grade.

Medium

Forget the frame. Look at the glass. Something's off about it. Enhance!

Medium

Sequential logic applies. Operating the controls in a specific order will lower the water outside.

Medium

Push the buttons. No, wait, the lever! Whichever goes click-clack the loudest.

Medium

Next: switch, then lever.

Medium

Next: the switch.

Medium

First step confirmed. Sluice cycle initiated. Next: either switch or lever.

Medium

Best guess: toggle for a humidity sensor, or pressure relief for a bypass pipe. Ignore it -- it's irrelevant.

Medium

This is it. Now hold down the red button.

Medium

That's the sound of being technically correct. Next: the lever.
